Yesterday we had our very first fundraiser event and it was amazing! The Lord is so faithful. Machelle and I spent a lot of time planning it. Planning events while working full time and raising children as a single parent can be a bit overwhelming but somehow the Lord helped it come to pass. We had a great turn out and some amazing volunteers. The speakers were great too! There is something so special, scary and exciting about stepping into what we have been praying for, for so many years.

I can't wait to see what the Lord does. We let everyone know at the event that we will be opening a home for the children rescued out of Sex trafficking here in Colorado. The name of the home will be Magnolia House.

Thank you to all of our Sponsors and everyone who joined us! This new journey is going to be amazing, and we invite you all along for the ride! Seeing the children heal and get back on track will be the reward! :)

The reason this non-profit is called Eyes Up Ministries is because the Lord has us walking step by step with our eyes on Him every moment of the way. I remember as I was going through my healing process every time I would take my eyes off of Him I would get so overwhelmed. Jesus would gently remind me to look at Him and not everything else. He always provided for us, He opened doors and closed doors. He walked with me through the things of my past, through the pain, guilt, shame, betrayals and everything else. Healing from trauma can be hard. Facing the things from our past can be hurtful but walking through it is the best way to completely heal. Ignoring it does not make it go away. Burying it with addiction and self-medication only makes it worse and then it piles on more mess to clean up and heal from.

We will walk with these children through their healing process but the most important thing we could ever teach them is how to walk through everything in life with their eyes on Jesus. With Jesus they will never be alone. With Jesus they will never feel incomplete or less than. With Jesus they will always be ok. He is our protector, provider, strong tower, comfort, savior, best friend, confidant and so much more. Nothing ever has and ever will compare to having Jesus to do life with every moment of every day.

With Love,

Turea
